The true nature

of the Tardigrada reveals itself.

Reaching the Azores, a remote archipelago of nine Portuguese islands in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, Jan Bas Ader made it to the main island of Sao Miguel. Known for its abundance of summer hydrangeas blooming along hedgerows, it is part mystery, part cosmopolitan mecca. Now and then a wormhole appears near San Miguel. Unfortunately, it happens just as Bas Jan Ader arrives.  He got sucked in. This wormhole is a shortcut to turmoil.

Now he is ahead of a deadly battle with the cosmic Tardigrada, who have overrun the stars and aim for ultimate evolution.

Involuntarily, he witnesses the threatening actions of the Tardigrada in their confrontation with the alien dwellers.

He is still connected with the fragrance seller from Bhopal and is able to transmit all his observations through his yellow Billabong Cozy Moon fleece jacket — surveillance in real time.

"Flinch and you're dead."

S/He raises their hands. S/He has a vial in their left hand.

"What you got there? Give it to me slowly."

S/He does. S/He is pushed against the wall.

"Spread your tentacles."

"Who are you?"

S/He takes out a bounty hunter killer switchpick type thing and stabs them on the back of their neck. A green liquid oozes out. S/He looks at them and turns into a Tardigrada.

Then s/he begins to sing:

"Shards of scorched flesh descend from the skies

Those who attempt to flee are instantly vaporized

We will breed with your kind, constantly creating a new form of killer"

“We’d have to be dead above the neck if we weren’t interested in this.”

"It's killing them."

"Really rad

let the cat out of the bag."

s/he rhymes.

In opposite to other life forms the Tardigrada introduced a special mode of exploration and suppression: the suburban encounter, often still private and personal but more ooey-gooey Jim Jones New Age than abductions and anal probes.

Their dreams about domination have always been driven by a desire for meaning in a vast, oblivious cosmos: they want to be worshiped so they know they exist.
