Vin'nyla gazes down at an innocent face looking up from between their tentacles, a soft smile gracing their lips. S/He exposes the tanned skin of their tentacles. Their matching white clothes lay crumpled on the ground beside them.
The procedure starts innocuously enough, with a painless implant nestled at the base of their skull. S/He is led to lay beneath a gargantuan machine pulsating with tendrils of mysterious energy. As the tendrils wrap around them, s/he feels a warmth and connection.
However, the experiment takes a bizarre turn. Vin'nyla finds themself engaged in a series of unrelated tasks, each more perplexing than the last. S/He crawls on the floor, kisses the tentacles of their superior, and follows bewildering instructions without hesitation. Their worries and doubts seem to vanish, replaced by an eerie sense of compliance.
Meanwhile, in the control room, Zak Qlikman monitors the subjects' progress. Qlikman's thesis has been deemed too radical by the scientific community.
